Mrs Burgess – Teaching Assistant

Hello, I’m Mrs Burgess. I have been a part of the school community here since 2006 when my eldest daughter started in Reception Class. I enthusiastically progressed onto being a KS2 classroom volunteer in 2009 whilst studying for and gaining my first TA qualification. I finally moved into my current position in Reception class in 2013 which I love to bits and was absolutely thrilled to get. I love being a part of the children’s lives on a daily basis; being there for them, assisting their learning and development whilst building relationships with them from their very first day at school. I feel so lucky to be able to do what I love.

I am a bit of a home bird and during my time away from school I like to be with my two special daughters and also to spend time with my family on the family farm. I have a menagerie of different pets myself including my little ‘Jug’ dog Bella and two fluffy rabbits. I love singing and also playing netball too.

Mrs Murray – Teaching Assistant

Hello, I’m Mrs Murray I started as a parent helper when my youngest child was in year one. I am now a qualified member of staff after catching the education bug. I love helping children grow and seeing them gain confidence, independence and making sure they enjoy their first taste of school.

When I am not at school I am running around after my three enthusiastic children and our energetic Jackapoo Daisy.

Mrs Farrington – Teaching Assistant

Hello! My name is Mrs Farrington. I have been a teaching assistant at Richard Clarke First School for 18 years but associated with the school for over 30! My four sons attended Richard Clarke as now do some of my grandchildren. Every working day is a pleasure. The children constantly surprise, teach and uplift me. I can’t imagine my life without the pupils of Richard Clarke First School.

I wear lots of hats but underneath them all is the same person, whether I am Reverend Farrington, Mrs Farrington, Nana Farrington, Lynda or darling I have the same passion and zest for life. If I have any free time you will find me in the garden, walking my dogs, reading a book or snuggling my grandchildren.

Mrs D. Speake – Teaching Assistant

Hello my name is Mrs Speake. I have had the pleasure of working at Richard Clarke for the past thirteen years as a teaching assistant. I started off in reception class and have also worked in years two, three and four. I am passionate about working with children and I take great pride watching them develop and grow whilst progressing through the school.

I am married to Andy and have three children Sam, Jack and Ellie. I love entertaining and spending time with family and friends. I enjoy cooking, cycling and travelling.

Mrs J. Johnson – Teaching Assistant

Hello there! I joined the school in September 2016 after working in pre-school for 5 years. My children previously attended the Richard Clarke First School, and so I have been involved with the school for many years. First and foremost as a parent, but also on the PTFA and other volunteering opportunities whilst my children were here. I am delighted to be back as a member of staff.

At home, I spend lots of time with my children, the horses, and a whole host of other animals, including my extremely clever pet cow, Gertie!
