Snorgh and the Sailor

Wow! What an exciting week we had during a whole school book week. We started the week being faced with a bath tub in the middle of the court yard! It was filled with all things  beach related, including ‘LOST AT SEA’ spelt out in only shells! We went on to read the exciting story of Snorgh and the Sailor and had a fabulous week writing, reading and even dancing around the story! We are all authors, readers and performers here at RCFS after all!

Our partners Burton Albion came in to school and helped develop a dance with each of the classes based around the story. This is what they had to say about our pupils. ” The group work carried out by the children was fantastic. They showed excellent communication skills, shared ideas successfully and this meant that they created a piece of movement they were proud to show the rest of the school.”

During each class session Burton Albion were asked to judge the house teams for creativity and teamwork. The dance day house competition overall results are as follows:-

Joint first with 55 points each, Clarke & Baggot

Third place went to Paget with 50 points

Fourth place, Drabble with 45 points.

As you can see it was a very close call across the teams.
