School Council

What is the School Council?

Our School Council is made up of four parties, each representing one of our key curriculum drivers. These parties consist of elected pupils who represent the voices of their peers and work to improve the school.

Meet the Current School Council Members:

Wellbeing Council         Possibilities Council

Diversity Council            Environment Council

Our council is formed by pupils from different year groups, all working together to bring positive change to the school. Each group represents one of our curriculum drivers:

  • Possibilities
  • Diversity
  • Environment
  • Wellbeing

What Does the School Council Do?

The School Council engages in various activities to enhance school life, including:

  • Holding regular meetings with a teacher to discuss and solve school-related issues.
  • Implementing ideas agreed upon by the council, such as organising events, improving school facilities, contributing to newsletters, or assisting in staff interviews.

Roles within the School Council

Each year, two representatives from every class are elected to join one of the four curriculum driver groups. These groups collectively form the School Council, ensuring diverse representation and engagement in:

  • Possibilities
  • Diversity
  • Environment
  • Wellbeing

We aim to represent all pupils’ views and take action on important matters. To ensure our council is effective, we focus on the following key elements:

  • Regular meetings
  • Encourage pupil voice
  • Improve our school environment
  • Leadership development
  • Develop clear communication and collaboration
  • Encourage responsibility and leadership skills
  • Increase school spirit
  • Provide a platform for all voices to be heard and valued
  • Effective use of budgets
  • Annual evaluations to assess and improve our effectiveness

Possibilities Day 2025:

Our Possibilities school council worked together with Miss Salt, Miss Hartshorne and one of our valued Governors, Harriet Allen, to plan for a day of exploring future aspirations and jobs.
