Salary Details: Main Scale
Job Term: Full Time
Appointment Type: Permanent
Location: Richard Clarke First School, Abbots Bromley

A post has become available in our highly thought of village school due to the promotion of our English lead, who began with us as an NQT, to an Assistant Head positon.  To begin in September 2020, we require a recently qualified teacher or NQT to join us as a class teacher in either KS1 or lower KS2.  With a genuinely inclusive approach, beautiful surroundings and a supportive and friendly team, this could be the perfect place to begin or build your career.

We are looking for a recently qualified teacher who is ready to take on subject leadership in English or an ambitious NQT who is full of energy and enthusiasm for this role. At The Richard Clarke First School, we pride ourselves on innovation, high quality provision and excellent outcomes for all learners. We want someone who can deliver exciting and engaging lessons that enable all pupils to achieve high standards and make great progress.  You will be the type of person who thrives under a challenge, play as part of a small but dynamic team and can display the qualities required to become an outstanding class teacher. A strength in English and/or history and/or art could be an advantage, although it is the best practitioner that we want first and foremost.

In this class teacher/NQT role you will have the fantastic support of experienced colleagues and the guidance and advice from a kind and friendly Headteacher.  You would be mentored by a fantastic teacher.

The Richard Clarke First School is a small, happy, friendly, rural community school, situated in Abbots Bromley.  The village itself has a rich cultural heritage and the school takes its name from a local man who made his fortune in London in the 1500s.  Today, the endowment fund still supplements the school budget and his legacy continues. We are associate members of the Uttoxeter Learning Trust and have strong partnerships with schools in the area.

Our school motto is TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More) and we celebrate individual success whilst fostering team spirit.  We pride ourselves on our positive, vibrant and caring ethos.

The staff at our school are caring, experienced and committed to meeting the individual needs of every child, and to creating a happy and secure environment.

Our children enjoy a rich curriculum that is broad and balanced and is enhanced by a fantastic enrichment programme to cater for all children’s interests and learning styles.  Every day is packed full of joy, friendship and exciting learning.

We have high standards, we continually strive for excellence and are proud of our many successes.  OFSTED (2017) said Richard Clarke is a good school which continues to go from strength to strength.  In fact, Richard Clarke has been judged consistently good with outstanding features since OFSTED began!

Visits to the school would normally be welcomed and encouraged, however in these challenging times they are not possible with the current rules on social distancing.  With this in mind I would ask you to visit our school website to get a feel for us.  We have put a virtual tour on for you to get an idea of what our school is like.

If you are interested in our position, I would ask you to email headteacher@richardclarke.staffs.sch to ask for an application form and further details on how to apply.  Any questions please email us your phone number and a member of staff will give you a ring.

Closing date for applications:  3.30pm, Monday 20th April 2020 (date bought forward due to volume of applicants)

Interview date: Due to the changing national picture with coronavirus, interviews may have to take a different format, this will be confirmed at a later date.

All applications must be emailed, hand delivered or posted to the school directly.
