Teaching Supply Staff Profiles

Situations can arise where classes need to be covered by supply staff.  These range from staff illness or emergencies to staff training.  We will always aim to:

  • Minimise adverse effects on children’s learning and progress
  • Provide continuity in the curriculum
  • Support cover staff with clear guidance of expectations

In the first instance or in an emergency TA’s will be used to cover staff absence as this does provide the best continuity for the children in terms of known relationships, knowing children’s needs, knowing planning and abilities etc.

Supply cover staff will be monitored so we can build up a register of effective teachers for each year group.

Meet our regular and trusted supply teachers:

Mrs Kate Woodhead

Kate Woodhead Supply Teacher

Hello, I’m Mrs Woodhead and I help out at Richard Clarke as a Supply Teacher.  I started as a Parent Helper in Year 1 in 2006.  Since then I have worked as a long term Supply Teacher across the school. Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and I play in a band.

Mrs Charlotte Owston

Charlotte Owsten

My name is Charlotte Owston and I have been teaching for 13 years.  I have taught a range of age groups from reception to year 4 whilst also providing some private tuition.  In my free time I enjoy being busy with my young family,  I am a member of the local running club and go swimming as often as I can.  I love to go for a run or a swim followed by a warming hot chocolate and catch up with friends!
