David Lovell

Governing Body

Individual Governor Profile

Type of Governor: Co-Opted Governor

Reasons for becoming a governor: My eldest daughter started in reception at Richard Clarke in September 2016. Working in secondary education, I was keen to learn more about primary education in order to support her, but also to support the school with the skills and experiences I have developed throughout my career to date.

Subject link: Physical Education, Sport Premium.

Background information: I qualified as a Physical Education teacher 15 years ago and have worked in large secondary schools ever since. I spent 5 years as a Head of Faculty and since 2012 have been a member of the Senior Leadership Team where I currently hold the position of Vice Principal with responsibility for all aspects of Teaching and Learning and CPD. I was involved in the formation of the Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) that my school established and also work across all of the schools within the trust to develop high quality teaching and learning.

Additional information: I chose to enter the teaching profession owing to my love of sport and passion for installing lifelong habits to ensure young people go on and lead healthy, active lifestyles. Growing up I played any and every sport and many years ago played volleyball for England Under 19s.
