Individual Governor Profile
Type of Governor: Co-opted
Reasons for becoming a Governor: I am passionate about The Richard Clarke First School. I have been associated with the school for over 30 years – as a parent, grandparent and member of staff.
I value the opportunity to contribute to the continued improvement of the educational provision for the children of Abbots Bromley and surrounding area.
Subject link: Music and Pupil Premium
Background Information: I am married to local farmer Roy Farrington. Our four sons came to the school, during which time I volunteered as a parent helper. In 1996 an opportunity arose for me to join the staff and work 1:1 with a pupil and successive head teachers have helped me to develop the role of teaching assistant in school.
I have been through every OFSTED inspection that the school has had and Mrs Hanson is my fifth Head Teacher.
This is my second term of office as a governor.
Additional Information: I have an NVQ3 in Child Development and Pre-school Practice. A Diploma in Preschool Practises and I am also one of the local Church of England ministers – but my paid work is in school.
