Individual Governor Profile
Type of Governor: Parent Governor
Reasons for becoming a Governor: I became a parent governor at RCFS when my eldest daughter started in Reception in 2015. As someone who works in Education, I strongly believe that schools thrive where there is a strong and constructive partnership with the community, including parents. I am interested in all that RCFS is striving to achieve and keen to share my expertise to support the school with this.

Background Information: I worked as a primary teacher in London from 1996-2001. I then become involved in educational research, working at King’s College, London from 2001 on projects to develop children’s thinking skills in science, Assessment for Learning and Outdoor Learning in Science and gained a PhD there that explored the relationship between talk and cognition in primary science. I am currently a Senior Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University on the BA Primary Education route where I lead the Primary Science team.
Additional Information: I have lived in Abbots Bromley since 2014. Mark and I have two daughters (the youngest will be starting RCFS in September 2017). We love spending time outdoors, cooking (especially Mauritian-where my family are from) and all four of us are keen musicians.
